A MAN has been arrested after a serious assault left a woman with head injuries in Binstead this morning (Monday, June 20).

Police were called at 11.10am following reports of a serious assault at an address in Newnham Road.
A woman suffered head injuries and has been taken to hospital.
Her injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening.
Police arrested a man at the scene, and he has been transported to hospital.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "The two parties involved are known to one another, and there is no wider risk to the public.
"Officers remain on scene at this time and are conducting enquiries."
Police closed Newnham Road, but it has since reopened.
