A one-way system is now in place on Fairlee Road, Newport. Traffic will be allowed to drive into Newport but outgoing traffic will divert via Staplers Road.

Each night of the Isle of Wight Festival (June 16-19), Fairlee Road will close altogether to ensure the safety of pedestrians.

Timings will vary, but motorists are encouraged to avoid the area between 10pm and 2am.

East Cowes traffic during the Isle of Wight Festival

Cars arriving at East Cowes's Red Funnel terminal will be directed up York Avenue and along Whippingham Road. It will turn right onto East Cowes Road and into the Isle of Wight Festival car park.

Pedestrians arriving at East Cowes will be able to get on buses outside the Red Jet terminal on Castle Street.

Isle of Wight Festival traffic from Ryde and Fishbourne direction

Vehicles travelling via Wightlink's Fisbourne terminal will be directed to the right, on to Kite Hill. It will go through Wootton, down Lushington Hill, straight over the Racecourse roundabout and left, onto East Cowes Road and into the festival car park.

At Seaclose Park during the Isle of Wight Festival

Seaclose Park is now mainly closed, as the site takes shape. Access to Medina College fields, the cycle track between Newport Quay and Island Harbour, and Seaclose Park itself (except for the play park) is now restricted.

For those who need vehicle access to Newport Quay, off Fairlee Road, use the bridge and avoid going through Seaclose Park.
