AFTER two years, The Awakening Festival of Wellbeing, Self Care and Connection is returning to the Isle of Wight.

It will be held at Northwood House in Cowes on September 24 and 25.

The mission is to offer a wellbeing and self-care space as an antidote to everyday stressful living, and the antidote to burnout and pressures on mental, physical and emotional health, made ever more prevalent in the world since the global pandemic.

The Awakening Festival welcomes a host of expert speakers and holistic heroes from the Island and beyond.

Speakers include Laura Brand, author of Sunday Times best-selling book The Journal for Magical Everyday Play.

She will be part of a session about bringing joyful living into everyday life on Saturday, and signing her book, which will be available to purchase.

There will be more than 50 different wellbeing workshops to explore on the Saturday, including inspiring conscious living talks, yoga and movement, meditation and mindfulness, self care sessions, holistic therapies.

There will be an evening of fun and entertainment with The Glitter Party, followed by Super Soulful Sunday, a day to slow things down with deep integration, rest and grounding.

The Awakening founder, Kate Taylor, who grew up on the Island, said: “There’s something so magical that happens when you travel across The Solent, it’s a deep inhale of fresh air and healing.

"There is such a wealth of wellbeing and creative talent on the Island who dedicate themselves to helping others with their work, so it is an honour to bring them together in a space, time and opportunity to explore how to bring self-care and wellbeing into everyday life as a way of being, not just a nice-to-have.”

The Awakening includes:

  • Joyful Living Wellbeing Workshops
  • Yoga and Movement
  • The Spark Conversations
  • The Journey Sessions
  • Self-Care Sessions hosted by Practical Magic
