A Ventnor man will stand trial next year, accused of robbing an autistic man.

Michael Hollister, of Albert Street, appeared before a judge at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on Friday (May 20).

The 52-year-old denied robbery on the Isle of Wight, on March 17, 2021.

The court heard the alleged victim was on the autistic spectrum and a quantity of cash had been stolen on High Street, Ventnor.

Jim Osborne, defending, said Mr Hollister claimed he was not the person identified on CCTV footage.

His case was adjourned for a trial on March 6, 2023.

He was granted conditional bail, and told not to contact the victim.
