PARAMEDICS and the police have attended a road traffic accident involving a car and motorcyclist in the West Wight.
UPDATE: Police have confirmed a motorcyclist died at the scene of the crash.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service was called out to a collision on the A3054 Shalfleet Road at 7pm this evening (Saturday).
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance also assisted in the accident.
On social media, Southern Vectis said they had diverted their number 7 bus from the area, following a police road closure.
Owing to an RTI along Forest Road/Yarmouth Road, police have closed the roads. Route 7 via Shalfleet will divert from Carisbrooke direct to Calbourne then via Elm Lane to Shalfleet. Diversion will be in both directions.

No details of casualties being taken to hospital are available at present.
