FOLLOWING the cancellations of various cross-Solent Red Jet sailings between Cowes and Southampton already today (Saturday), more will follow later this afternoon.

Ferry firm, Red Funnel, blame today's cancellations on operational staff shortages.

So far, the 10.55am, 12.05pm and 13.15pm sailing from Southampton to East Cowes have been cancelled, as have the 11.30am, 12.40pm and 1.50pm from Cowes to Southampton.

According to Red Funnel's online timetable, there will be further cancellations from Cowes at 6.30pm, and the 5.55pm from Southampton.

Sailings beyond those tonight are currently unaffected by staff shortages.

There was disruption for the same reason yesterday (Friday).
