The University of Bradford has announced Eileen Milner as its new Chair of Council.
The former chief executive and accounting officer of the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) will work on strategies with the university’s governing body.
After stepping down from her current position at the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, she decided to focus on a small number of non-executive roles which fulfil her passions.
She will be taking over from the current Chair of Council, Baroness Ann Taylor, on August 1.
Ms Milner said: “I am honoured to have been appointed by the university. I was attracted to the role because I care deeply about education and its power to develop the knowledge and skills people need to succeed in life and to contribute to society.
“The University is truly committed to social inclusion, social mobility and making a positive impact locally and globally through its research and knowledge transfer partnerships.”
