VENTNOR Wellbeing Cafe, a self-help group, enjoyed a fabulous trip out on a glorious sunny day and travelled in style.

They took an open top bus to visit the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary to meet and say hello to the donkeys.

The group is based at the Green Room at Salisbury Gardens, funded by Ventnor Town Council.

The aim is to help members regain confidence and self-esteem, make friends and try new activities.

On their trip they were accompanied by councillors Steph Toogood and John Watkins — both supporters of the group.

So successful was the visit to the sanctuary, the group adopted a donkey for the cafe, called Pinky.

Special thanks go to driver John Killick, cafe co-ordinator Terri Exposite, the IW Donkey Sanctuary and the bus owner.
