AN ISLE of Wight man, accused of being racially abusive to staff at a chemists shop in Berkshire chose to have his trial heard by magistrates.
The West Wight resident is alleged to have told at least two members of staff to "go back to their country."

William Djivikian, of Colwell Chine Road, Freshwater, denied four charges of intentionally causing racially aggravated harassment, alarm or distress, either verbally or in writing, on two separate occasions in 2021.
The offences are alleged to have taken place in the Maidenhead High Street branch of Boots the chemists in Berkshire.
He elected to have his trial heard before magistrates, after they accepted jurisdiction of the case.
In the interests of justice, with all other witnesses from Berkshire, the trial has been transferred to Slough Magistrates' Court.
The 28-year-old was bailed to reappear for a case management hearing in Slough on May 24.
