TRAIN lines are blocked between Brading and Shanklin, leading to issues for the Isle of Wight's Island Line at rush hour today (Wednesday).

South Western Railway said: "Due to a points failure between Brading and Shanklin all lines are blocked. 

"Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

"Sandown, Lake and Shanklin will not be served. Disruption is expected until the end of the day."

Until further notice, the train services are terminating / starting at Brading.

Replacement buses have been requested to assist passengers, to run from Brading to Shanklin in both directions.

Travellers seeking further information or onward travel advice are advised to speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.

The operator said: "We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey."
