A car was on its roof on Ocean View Road in Ventnor this morning (Wednesday), blocking the road for a time.
Its driver was in the hands of an Isle of Wight ambulance crew but a police officer told the Isle of Wight County Press reporter that he had escaped serious injury.
Firefighters were among those on the Ventnor side of the junction with Gills Cliff Road.
They were called at about 9.15am, however they have since left the scene.
Some route 3 buses were diverting, via Albert Street, Pier Street Church Hill, Alpine Road, Lower and Upper Gills Cliff Roads to the Crispy Fry chip shop.
Recovery of the vehicle was underway and the road has since reopened.
