A RYDE man must fork out more than £800 in court costs after being caught driving on the mainland without a licence or insurance.
The case of Scott Roper, of Melville Street, was heard at Bodmin Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (May 3).
The 33-year-old was charged with driving without a licence or insurance, in Cornwall, on July 10, 2021.
The court heard he drove a Vauxhall VRM on Agar Road, Redruth.
Roper was fined £660 and ordered to pay costs of £90 and a £66 surcharge.
He was disqualified from driving for six months and his driving record was endorsed with eight penalty points.
The court heard the disqualification was obligatory due to repeat offending.
