KEEN tennis players in a Hampshire village will need to plan their next games carefully.

The courts at Colden Common Recreation Ground will soon be subject to works which are expected to last three weeks from May 9.

According to the parish council, the floodlights will be amended so there is less ‘overspill’ of light into the surrounding environment.

A spokesperson explained: “Work is due to commence on Monday, May 9, 2022 to change the existing floodlighting system on the tennis courts at the Recreation Ground to a more environmentally friendly arrangement with less overspill.

“The process should take approximately three weeks to complete. Unfortunately, there will be some disruption and not all courts will be available for play but please bear with us.

“The end product should be far superior to what we have in place at the moment.

“Please take care when walking in the area and keep dogs away from the construction works.”
