Talks of a return to the Isle of Wight for Bestival are in the air, according to news shared with the County Press earlier.

Yarmouth-based DJ and music producer Rob da Bank hinted that Bestival could, one day, return to the Island.

Until 2016 the festival was based on the Isle of Wight before moving to Dorset.

Next year will be the 20th year of Bestival, with the first 13 years being spent on the Island. But who were the biggest stars to grace its Isle of Wight editions?

Elton John

In 2013, Elton John headlined Bestival, marking his first UK festival performance for 30 years.

He performed a greatest hits set to end a weekend that included performances from Chic and Snoop Dogg.

Stevie Wonder

Stevie Wonder headlined the Sunday night of Bestival in 2012, wowing the crowds with a set full of crowd pleasers.

Also on the bill that weekend were The xx, Friendly Fires and New Order.

Chemical Brothers

Dance duo Chemical Brothers returned to Bestival on the Isle of Wight in 2015, headlining a weekend that included the Jacksons, Underworld and Duran Duran.

Amy Winehouse

In a controversial festival appearance, Amy Winehouse arrived on the Bestival stage 40 minutes late in 2008.

As a result, she was forced to cut her set short, playing for just 35 minutes. But the highs of her performance showed what a talent she was.

Foals

Foals headlined the main stage at 2014’s Bestival, closing the show on a weekend that included Outkast and Beck.

London Grammar and Disclosure were also on the bill.
