MUSIC lovers will be heading to Ventnor Exchange today (Saturday) — for Record Store Day.

After Covid cancelled the 2020 plans, then the day was split into two for the 2021 event, the official RSD outlet is looking forward to the full return of the event.

Ventnor Exchange has been an enthusiastic participant of the event since it opened in 2014.

This year marks RSD’s 15th anniversary — the worldwide phenomenon has been one the driving forces behind the vinyl revival.

This year there will be exciting special vinyl releases, plus the return of a full line-up of music.

This includes some of the young DJs from Brave Island hitting the decks with Ed Eldridge.

There will also be a special edition of Reggie’s Plays Pop Quiz in the evening and an exhibition of album covers which anyone can contribute to.

Check out some of the releases at recordstoreday.co.uk and ventnorexchange.co.uk will have a list of what they managed to get hold of.

Music promoter Ears Peeled will showcase some of the artists they have been working with.

Artists will be selling their music and merchandise.

Artists performing include Froglands PK, Cara Goodrem, Romy Helen, Ulysses Wells, Sunday Soul, KafTan, Ed Eldridge and Brave Island DJs and DJ Gary C.

A schedule with timings is at ventnorexchange.co.uk

There's a cash cash prize for the quiz, so gather your team of four or less by 7pm (£1 to enter). Register your team at hello@ventnorexchange.co.uk or call 01983 716767.

Featured in the gallery space, the Ventnor Exchange and Art Vinyl present COVER TO COVER, an exhibition of peoples favourite album covers and their own covers they have designed and created themselves based on existing artists and albums, all of which will be displayed in art vinyl frames.
