WightFibre have been working in the town during March, laying cable under the road.
They have dug a channel at the top of the High Street and, as they are supposed to, made good the lettering over the top.
But without spelling out the entire words TOWN CENTRE, it looks half-finished at best, as the pictures show.
There is a tiny strip of new yellow lines too.
The County Press has contacted WightFibre, Island Roads and the Isle of Wight Council for a statement, asking if the work will be made good, and when.
More to follow.
Update: Island Roads has slammed the disappointing work by WightFibre and has been to the site to remedy it.
