KIND hearted Isle of Wight College students are putting their best feet forward for Ukraine.

The military and public services students are doing a 3,480 mile fun run — which is the distance of a virtual run to Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, and back.

They are running 60 miles or riding 120 miles each and have all been tasked to raise £1 per run mile or 50p a mile if they ride.

This mammoth effort is on top of their voluntary work already undertaken, loading four lorries (80 tonnes of boxes and bags) of aid.

The fun run is to raise £3,500 to pay for a truck for MAD-Aid to move the much needed donations from the Isle of Wight to the refugees in bordering countries of the Ukraine and beyond.

They hope to achieve the mileage within two weeks (a total of 30 miles a week).

Tutors Jono, Vykke and Bryan will all be getting involved to lead by example.

Anyone at the college who wants to get involved should contact Jono Hill, public services tutor.

Alternatively, anyone can donate via https://bit.ly/RunToKyiv

The college asks that if you are sponsoring an individual, please do not comment with the student’s name, but just ask them to let their tutor know you have sponsored them.
