Due to the absence of an essential team member, Wightlink has cancelled both its 6.15am sailing from Lymington and its 7.30am sailing from Yarmouth, tomorrow (Friday, March 11).

The Isle of Wight ferry operator has also cancelled a host of Fastcat sailings for Friday morning.

In its post on Twitter, it did not give a reason for the Portsmouth and Ryde Pier Head cancellations.

However, a post on its website said it was due to staff absence.

What Wightlink FastCat sailings have been cancelled on Friday morning (March 11)?

The 5.15am, 6.15am, 7.15am, 8.15am, 9.15am, 10.15am and 12.15pm from Portsmouth Habrour have been cancelled.

The 5.45am, 6.45am, 7.45am, 8.45am, 9.45am, 10.45am and 12.45pm from Ryde are also off.

Wightlink said: "We apologise for the changes to your travel plans."

Passengers are being advised to switch to Hovertravel, which arrives at Southsea.

However, Hovertravel is warning passengers that cancellations are possible tomorrow (March 11), from 8am, due to bad weather.

If Hovertravel services are cancelled, it sends passengers to the FastCat instead.
