HERE is a list of drop-off points, for Islanders looking to donate items to Ukraine.

Among the things most needed are medical items, including first aid kits, painkillers, anti-flu medicine and bandages, thermals, blankets, duvets, sleeping bags and the like.

Long-life, dried and tinned foods are desperately needed, as well as baby items (bottles, formula, food, nappies and dummies) and disposable cups, plates, bowls and cutlery.

The people of Ukraine also need torches, batteries, thermos flasks, handwarmers and backpacks.

A ferry of aid will leave the Isle of Wight for Moldova tonight (Friday).

An artic lorry, stocked with clothing, food, toiletries, survival tents and more, will take a few days to reach the country which neighbours war-torn Ukraine.

Helping lead the Isle of Wight's response to the crisis is Victoria Dunford, who runs MAD-Aid.
