FOO Fighters frontman, Dave Grohl, has heaped praise on Isle of Wight band, Wet Leg.

In today's (Sunday) Observer, the musician revealed how eager he is to see them live, and lauded their "brilliant videos".

Earlier this month, Wet Leg dropped the video for their track, Oh No, filmed at the Alum Bay chairlift.

The song reflects on their unprecedented success over the past year, including award nominations and international gigs.

This is even before their first album release, which is set for April 8.

Fronted by Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chamber, the band's new song, Angelica, is out tomorrow (Monday).

It will be played first on BBC Radio 6 Music, from 5pm.

No doubt among the many eagerly awaiting the release, Dave Grohl told The Observer: "This Isle of Wight band is starting to blow up in America.

"A friend forwarded me their song, Chaise Longue, and I thought, oh this is great.

"It’s fun, it’s fresh, it’s new, it’s just completely entertaining. Great sense of humour, great beat, great riffs, totally hooky.

"I started forwarding it to my friends, and whenever we get together for our living room dance parties, that’s the one song everyone jumps off the couch and dances to.

"There are nights when we just play that song on repeat.

"They make brilliant videos, too. I can’t wait to see them live."
