RED Funnel has suspended its Red Jet service due to high winds this afternoon (Sunday).

In the wake of Storm Eunice and before Storm Franklin reaches the Island, winds remain high.

A Met Office yellow wind warning is currently in place until 3pm tomorrow (Monday).

Red Funnel said: "Due to the increasing high winds continuing from Storm Eunice, our Red Jet service is currently suspended until further notice.

"The safety of our passengers and teams is our number one priority."

Passengers who were planning to travel on the Red Jet route from Cowes to Southampton can take the car ferry from East Cowes.

All the updates are in our live blog.
