THE Met Office has issued a second weather warning for wind on the Isle of Wight ­— this time for Saturday.

An amber weather warning is already in effect from 5am until 9pm tomorrow (Friday), as the Isle of Wight braces for Storm Eunice.

Winds of up to 100mph are expected.

While the Met Office warning remains amber, local forecaster, the Isle of Wight Met Service, has issued a red weather warning, with the worst of the weather expected between 8am and 4pm tomorrow (Friday).

A separate Met Office weather warning goes live on Saturday, between 6am and 6pm.

This yellow weather warning forecasts further strong winds, which the Met Office says could hamper recovery efforts from Storm Eunice.

The Isle of Wight Council has issued advice on flooding, sandbags and other safety concerns, and the Environment Agency has issued a flood alert for the Isle of Wight coast.

Isle of Wight police are urging Islanders to prepare.
