A former oil refinery worker and pub landlord who became a top-notch amateur photographer, has died at the age of 56.
Tim Buxey, a leading member of the Isle of Wight County Press Camera Club on Facebook, took some stunning images of wildlife and of Island events.
He grew up in Millbrook, Southampton, and went to Millbrook School.
Tim worked at Fawley refinery in his early years then went to work for B & Q then ran a pub in Swanwick, Derbyshire, before moving to the Island.
He had four children, Hannah, Maddison, Ella-Louise and Harry.
Tim had enjoyed speed skating at Southampton ice rink, belonged to the civil service club in Southampton and also played football.
He loved drawing, painting and poetry before later in life beginning photography.
Through photography he helped a lot of other people with mental health issues begin taking photos.
When he moved to the Island, Tim lived in Freshwater and volunteered at Isorropia mental health charity.
He spent a lot of time going out for walks with his camera and Freshwater Bay, The Causeway and Tennyson Down were among his favourite spots.
He also enjoyed fishing.
The funeral is at St Peter’s Church, Maybush, Southampton, at 1pm on March 4, followed by burial at Hollybrook cemetery.
