Five new Covid-linked deaths have been revealed by the Isle of Wight NHS Trust.

According to the latest data, after getting coronavirus, two patients died on January 23 and three died on January 21. 

It brings to 220, the number of people who have died on the wards at St Mary's since the start of the pandemic.

A further 151 Islanders have also died in non-hospital community settings since March 2020.

A further 160 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed for the Isle of Wight today (Tuesday), although the Island's average rate per 100,000 over the seven days to January 20 fell to 607.9, one of the lowest in the country.
