WE LOVE seeing pictures of the animals you share your life with here at the County Press — so please keep sending them in.

We welcome animals big and small on our pets pages, so whether your furry amigo is a donkey or a hamster, or you have a feathered friends, or something more exotic, we would love to see them.

Today we have beautiful horses and ponies, dogs, cats, rabbits and even a super-cute lamb.

Isle of Wight County Press:

Blaze loves rolling in the mud!

We adore handsome Blaze, the Irish sports horse who belongs to Karen Vassallo of Ryde.

She said he will be 21 in May and he loves his duvet days, carrots, rolling in the mud and having his photo taken.

Isle of Wight County Press:

Gazelle when she first arrived in April and more recently in August - she looks much better now.

Another beautiful horse is four-year-old thoroughbred, Gazelle, who belongs to Olivia Williams of Ryde.

Olivia said: "Gazelle came to me in a bad state - she was full of worms and has gastric ulcers and a multitude of lameness issues.

"She had an operation to remove a bone fragment from her coffin joint in her leg in November and now she is starting to slowly undergo a rehabilitation programme."

Isle of Wight County Press:

Chardonnay enjoying some time out in the garden.

Another lucky pet is Chardonnay, the rabbit who belongs to Denise and Keith Crane of Godshill.

They are unsure of her age -  they have had her for nine years and the vet said she was approximately one to two years old when they “adopted” her.

Chardonnay was discovered in the woods in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, by their niece. She was tame, but unchipped, and despite being advertised as found she was not claimed.

Denise and Keith took her into their care in April 2013 and she is a house rabbit who likes to go outside in her run in warmer weather.

They said: "We moved to the Isle of Wight in 2018, she enjoyed her trip on the ferry and had a lot of attention paid to her, because most passengers thought it would be a cat in the carrier.

"She didn’t enjoy hay as her staple diet on the mainland but since sampling Isle of Wight hay, she can’t get enough of it.

"She’s very intelligent and knows the sound of the front door opening and expects to get get a treat as soon as we arrive home."

Chardonnay was also named 'Pet of the Week' by Magic radio a few years ago.

Isle of Wight County Press:

Buttercup and Elsa.

Tales of dogs chasing sheep are often in the news - but nothing could be further from the truth here, because Buttercup the lamb and Elsa the Great Dane are actually best of friends and follow each other everywhere.

Owner Nicki Monteath of Whitwell said: "We rescued Buttercup and bottle-fed her, as her mum wasn't producing milk. She thinks Elsa is her mum. They love each other and are best friends."

Isle of Wight County Press:

Betty and her friend, George.

Cute alert: we love Betty and her friend, George, who are a chihuahua and a Bedlington terrier.

They are both six years old and belong to Anne Allen of Newport, who describes them as the best of friends.

Isle of Wight County Press:

Sirio loves playing Santa.

Finally, who could not fall in love with this gorgeous bundle of fluff?

Sirio, the four-year-old Newfoundland dog belongs to Hannah Delannoy of Shanklin, who says he loves beach walks and swimming.

Sirio has even won a couple of Water Rescue Awards from the New Forest Newfoundland Water Rescue Club.

NOTE: We had so many photos this week, we have split the gallery and story into two parts - so if your pet is not in this story, but was in the January 21 newspaper, they will be in the next story and gallery tomorrow (Tuesday).
