East Cowes has a new Mayor, following the departure of Michael Paler.

Cllr Tracy Reardon was unanimously elected into the role on Thursday, January 21.

She has served on the town's authority since May 2021.

Cllr Reardon said: "I’m extremely excited to represent the council and community, to promote our wonderful town."

"I would like to thank my fellow councillors for their support and acknowledgement", she said.

"I will endeavour to represent the council, while always championing East Cowes and its residents.

"I have been involved in various volunteering organisations, in the business and community sector in East Cowes, for a number of years.

"As a business owner, secretary of the East Cowes Business Association and chairman of the East Cowes Community Partnership, I felt the next step would be to become a local councillor.

"I am looking forward to this new challenge and working with a wider team of like-minded people, to celebrate East Cowes’s heritage and future."

Councillor for Osborne, Stephen Hendry and town councillor Cameron Palin were among those to congratulate Cllr Reardon.
