WITH a further 111 new cases of coronavirus on the Isle of Wight announced by Public Health England this afternoon (Saturday), the running total is likely to break through the 25,000 barrier later in the week.
The Island's cumulative total, since the pandemic began, now stands at 24,697 cases.
Yesterday (Friday), the number had climbed by 160 new cases.
The Island's rolling rate, five days behind the daily data, is currently 822.2 per 100,000 people — 40.1 down on yesterday's figure.
The rate is far lower than the UK rate of 1,454, although this has fallen significantly from yesterday's 1585.
So far this month, there have been six hospital deaths on the Island.
