FAILING to give information about who was driving a car has cost one motorist more than £1,000.

The case against Victoria Hartley, 39, of Brinton Close, East Cowes, was heard in her absence at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court on January 5.

She was found guilty of failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a Renault Grand Scenic when required.

She was found not guilty of speeding.

She was handed six penalty points, along with a £720 fine, costs of £300, and a victim surcharge of £72.

The total owed to the court is £1,092.
