A MAN has been charged following a burglary and theft in Newport yesterday (Monday).

Keenan Bradbury, 25, of School Lane, Newport is appearing at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court this morning.

He is charged with burglary of a house on School Lane in the early hours of yesterday morning, and stealing items from inside.

He is also charged with theft from a motor vehicle, after bank cards, a phone and a cordless drill were stolen from a vehicle parked on Victoria Road, Newport, overnight on January 2 to January 3.

He is also charged with possession of cannabis.

He was remanded into custody.
