NEWPORT Football Club's Division 1 Wessex League match against Totton and Eling this afternoon (Monday) has been postponed.

The Island club's New Year bank holiday fixture was called off this morning following a pitch inspection at Smallbrook Stadium in Ashey.

The pitch was deemed unfit following torrential rain yesterday afternoon (Sunday).

Newport's all-Island derby match at East Cowes Vics was called off on December 27 after the Beatrice Avenue pitch was waterlogged.

That game was been rearranged for Tuesday, January 25.

East Cowes Vics' match at home against fellow strugglers Fawley this afternoon is on, with kick-off at 2.45pm.

Cowes Sports, who play in the Wessex Premier League, are also at home today, hosting Shaftesbury. The match at Westwood Park is also currently on, with kick-off at 3pm.
