POLICE were called to Union Street in Ryde this morning after a group of men were thrown out of Wetherspoons.

Although quickly dispersed and no arrests were made, the incident caused alarm to passers-by.

An eyewitness told the County Press there were about eight men involved, and one was in a state of undress, with his trousers down.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a public order incident on Union Street in Ryde at 10.43am today (Sunday, December 12).

Staff at the S. Fowler & Co pub had told us they had ejected a group of men. No arrests were made."
