THE Isle of Wight's Covid rolling rate has surpassed 600 cases.

The rate is now at 604.4, up from 578.4 yesterday (Thursday).

It is above the UK rate of 498.

However, the rate is five days behind and doesn't take into account the cases confirmed over the past few days, which have been high in number.

Today, a further 159 cases were confirmed.

It takes the Island's total cases since the pandemic began to 19,458.

The highest rate is among children of school age.

Latest hospital data shows 24 Covid patients in St Mary's, with five on ventilators. The data is correct as of Tuesday.

There have been some recent Covid deaths recorded at the hospital.
