TRAVEL on the Isle of Wight has suffered major disruption as Storm Barra sweeps across the country.

Hovertravel has announced that services are cancelled due to adverse weather. 

The next update will come at 1.30pm, but in the meantime, tickets will be accepted on Wightlink's fastcat service from Ryde Pier Head.

Red Funnel has announced that disruption is to be expected on both Red Jet and vechicle ferries until 7pm this evening.

WIGHTLINK UPDATE: The Wightlink FastCat, which was suspended earlier this afternoon, will resume service at 4.15pm from Portsmouth Harbour and 4.45pm from Ryde Pier Head.

The Yarmouth to Lymington car ferry is currently running with 50 minutes delays to the normal schedule.

The Isle of Wight Council has reported that the Jenny Lee Service between East and West Cowes has been suspended until further notice.

Severe weather between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin has resulted in Island Line suspending its service.
