TWO fire crews from Newport Fire Station are at the scene of a smoking electrical pole on Fairlee Road.
A spokesperson from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said there was a "small fire at the base of the pole", which is directly outside Medina College.
Two fire crews are at the scene and awaiting SSE staff to help make the pole safe.
The call came in from a member of the public at 5.03pm.
