The sculpture is part of a larger project that seeks to increase the capacity of the parking and picnic area at the location.

The creator, eco-sculptor Glenn Martin, was commissioned by Gift To Nature to sculpt a piece that embraces Chale Bay, building it with sea glass to capture the light throughout the day.

Glenn said: “I have worked with sea glass for many years, exploring and experimenting with construction and combinations with other materials.

“I am a keen fossil hunter as well as an eco-sculptor, so I wanted to create something that combined my passions.”

He is currently working on plans for a new sculpture for Coppins Bridge roundabout, after having two previous pieces in the location ten years ago.
