Well-known children’s author, Peter J. Murray, visited the children of Bembridge CE Primary School to share with them his spine-chilling stories of Mokee Joe.

Peter performed his dramatic Mokee Joe presentation to pupils in Year 4, 5 and 6 and their laughter and excitement filled the hall.

The children were involved in acting out key parts in the story and were fully immersed in the World of Mokee Joe.

Lizzie Chambers, headteacher at Bembridge Primary School, explained: “Having worked with Peter before, I knew the children were going to love the experience of having him present his Mokee Joe trilogy.

Lizzie continued: "It is so important to give the children experiences missed from the past two years and having a successful author visit the school has made a real impact on our pupils and their passion to read.

"The children were so excited when the received their signed copy of Mokee Joe that they asked to read them in the playground at lunchtime.”

Peter J. Murray commented on his blog: “Today’s audience of Years 4, 5 and 6 were a joy to perform in front of.

"They were soooooooo enthusiastic and keen to join in at every opportunity.

"We had some real laughs as pupils came on stage and helped bring to life several of the story’s dramatic scenes – especially the part where Hudson meets Mokee Joe for the first time in the local supermarket. That was a scream!“
