THE ISLAND’S Covid rolling rate has continued to rise and remains well above the UK average.

The figures released today (Wednesday) show 98 new confirmed cases.

Yesterday, 116 cases were recorded and 55 the day before.

The latest cases take the Isle of Wight’s total, since the start of the pandemic, to 17,541.

The Island’s rolling rate per 100,000 people has also risen from yesterday’s figure.

Always five days behind, in the seven days to November 19, it was 555.8.

Yesterday, in the seven days to November 18, it was 533.4

The rolling rate on the Island remains above the UK average, which is 427.6.

The Island age group with the highest rolling rate remains five- to nine-year-olds, at 1.935.8.
