Passengers have been reporting delays on Red Funnel crossings this morning (Wednesday), as fog horns sound in the Solent.

UPDATE HERE: Red Funnel's Isle of Wight ferries are running 90 minutes late

The Red Jets are delayed, the Isle of Wight ferry firm has now revealed.

The vehicle ferries at 10.30am and 1.30pm (from Southampton) and 12pm and 3pm (from East Cowes) are delayed by 90mins.

Large parts of the Island are covered in fog and extra care is needed if you are heading out on the roads this morning.

Earlier, Red Funnel's social media information and website said everything was running to time, while passengers reported delays of up to 30 minutes on the Red Jets.

The earlier Southampton to Cowes 6.15am crossing was cancelled, due to technical issue, according to the ferry firm's post on Twitter.

Red Funnel later confirmed all Red Jets were running around 25 minutes behind schedule, between Cowes and Southampton, due to reduced visibility.
