MITCHELL Avenue in Ventnor closed at 1pm this afternoon (Monday) for emergency works.
The road is closed from its junction with Macrocarpa Road to its junction with Ocean View Road.
The closure is necessary to enable SGN to carryout emergency gas main repairs, and could last upwards of five days.
The diversion will affect the following streets: Mitchell Avenue, St Boniface Road, Trinity Road, High Street, Victoria Street, Albert Street, Pier Street, Church Street, Alpine Road, Zig Zag Road, Castle Road, Gills Cliff Road, Ocean View Road.
The road closure will bring about disruption to school bus routes.
Mitchell Ave in Ventnor has been closed. This pm the 63 will have to divert after the York Road bus stop via Gills Cliff Road, Zig Zag Road to rejoin the normal route at Ventnor Town. The bus is unable to serve:
