TODAY'S updated Public Health England statistics show a further 123 confirmed Covid cases on the Isle of Wight today (Sunday).

These latest cases follow on from yesterday’s 146 and 178 the day before.

The total number of confirmed cases on the Island since the pandemic began now stands at 17,272.

Measured per 100,00 people — and always five days behind – the Island’s rolling rate has risen to 513.0 and is now nearly 100 above the UK average, at 418.3.

Yesterday’s Isle of Wight rolling rate stood at 501.1.

Children under the age of 14, down to the age of five where statistics begin, are the worst Covid affected age group on the Island.

The 10 – 14-year-old age group has a rolling rate of 1,357.7, closely followed by five – nine-year-olds at 1,341.3.
