THERE is a real flavour Christmas is coming soon thanks to a special festive event being held in Newport town centre today (Saturday).

The event, Day of Christmas, has seen hundreds of shoppers from across the Isle of Wight and locals from across town descend on St Thomas's Square, St James's Square and Newport Harbour, for the fun-filled festive event, which includes anything from carol singing to ice skating.
