THE latest data for the Isle of Wight shows more than 80 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed.

Public Health England figures released today (Tuesday) show 89 new cases.

Yesterday, 108 new cases were recorded, and 89 the day before.

The Isle of Wight cumulative total, since the start of the pandemic, now stands at 16,646.

The Island's rolling rate has also changed.

Measured per 100,00 people, and always five days behind, in the seven days to November 11, it was 402.

Yesterday, in the seven days to November 10, that figure stood at 380.2.

It remains above the UK average, which is 376.

The most recently available hospital data showed five people seriously ill on ventilators at St Mary's Hospital (as of last Tuesday).

In total, the hospital had 22 people with Covid on the wards.

The latest death happened on November 10 and takes the Isle of Wight's Covid death toll to 334 people.

It is the third Covid death at the hospital within the last week.
