MORE than 100 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed on the Isle of Wight, according to the latest government data.

Public Health England figures released today (Friday) show 114 new cases.

Yesterday, 81 new cases were confirmed.

The latest cases take the Isle of Wight total to 16,274.

The Island’s rolling rate has also changed marginally, and now stands at 342.2, down from 342.9 yesterday.

A patient at St Mary's Hospital has died after contracting Covid-19, new data shows.

The latest death happened on November 10 and takes the Isle of Wight's Covid death toll to 334 people.

It is the third Covid death at the hospital within the last week.

The number of patients with Covid being treated at St Mary's Hospital has also risen.

Data correct on Tuesday, November 9, and published yesterday (Thursday) shows 22 people occupying a bed at the Newport hospital.
