THE number of patients with Covid being treated at St Mary's Hospital has risen, government data has revealed.

Data correct on Tuesday, November 9, and published yesterday (Thursday) shows 22 people occupying a bed at the Newport hospital.

Of those in hospital, five are currently being treated in a specialist ventilation bed, up from three last week.

Another Covid death has also been recorded at St Mary's Hospital.

The latest death happened on November 10 and takes the Isle of Wight's Covid death toll to 334 people.

It is the third Covid death at the hospital within the last week.
