CELEBRATIONS for over 30 years of entertainment by Caught Red-Handed Productions took place in Cowes.

A special celebratory tea was held at Northwood House to mark the special occasion, with 54 guests, including many local actors.

Started in 1990 by Simon Dabell and friends, Caught Red-Handed Productions created unique murder mystery weekends and evenings where guests enjoyed trying to work out whodunnit.

Using a wide range of local Island acting talent, the entertainments allow hotel and restaurant customers to play the role of private detective and quiz the suspects after discovering a murder.

Though laced with humour, these Wight Murder investigations and designed to stretch ‘ze leetle brain cells’ and evidence can include a range of evidence from the scene of the crime, a pathological report, and, of course, some red herrings.

Over the past 30 years, the theatre group have performed more than 300 entertainments, and Simon has created 60-plus murder mystery plots for guests to enjoy.

Simon said: “Caught Red-Handed continue to provide murder mystery entertainments for a wide range of commercial and community venues.

“As one guest recently said, after attending one such dinner event 'it’s so much fun, I almost feel it’s a crime to tell anyone I enjoyed it'.”
