THERE'S a more than even chance popular comedy star Jenny Eclair will incorporate some kind of reference to the standard of the hotel room she is staying in on the Isle of Wight, when she performs her new show at Shanklin Theatre this evening (Saturday).

She will be going on stage to perform her touring show, Jenny Eclair Sixty! (FFS!), at 7.30pm.

The acronym in brackets was probably not a million miles away from her reaction to entering the room of her hotel, which Jenny has not yet mentioned, but which she has certainly had a strong rant about on Twitter this afternoon.

Jenny tweeted: "Somehow we have managed to book ourselves into what looks like a derelict flophouse on the Isle of Wight!!!! I’m sort of being good about it."

One person who answered her tweet, warned: "Be careful they don't see your review or you might find yourself sleeping on the beach later."

Jenny's response was: "Genuinely thinking of sleeping in the car."

"I got the ****hole!! Suggestions (for an alternative hotel) would be useful.

"I’ve been to the Island before. Not slagging the Island off, but this hotel is a disgrace. There are rips in the net curtains, the towel is a rag and one of the pillows is stained.

"I’m at work now at Shanklin Theatre. So busy with show prep."

Jenny even managed to find the humour in another post.

"I hope they don't lock you out after the show!", to which she replied: "I could always break in. No one would notice."

Perhaps her most cutting comment came when she realised the significance of this evening.

"Oh dear, the clocks are going back tonight — which means another hour in this dump!!"
