THE latest government data shows a further increase in the number of confirmed Isle of Wight Covid cases.

Public Health England figures released today (Wednesday) show 103 new cases.

Yesterday, 99 cases were added to the Isle of Wight total, and 111 the day before.

The total number of Isle of Wight cases, since the start of the pandemic, now stands at 15,002.

The Island's rolling rate per 100,000 people has also changed. 

The most recent data shows, in the seven days to October 22, it was 596.6.

Yesterday, in the seven days to October 21, that figure stood at 567.8.

The age group most affected remains ten to 14 year olds, with a rolling rate of 2,633.

It was 2,687.9 yesterday. 

Another Covid-19 death has been recorded at St Mary's Hospital in Newport, new data revealed earlier today.

It is the seventh this month.

Two deaths were also confirmed the day before, meaning five people have died in a hospice on the Island since September 17.
