Two more Islanders have died after getting Covid-19, according to the latest data.

According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), which records deaths in our community, a patient died in a hospice here, in the week to October 15.

Five people have died in a hospice since September 17 and there have been eight deaths overall since records started in 2020.

A total of 145 people have died in the Island's non-hospital community settings (at home, in a care home, hospice, or elswhere) since March 2020.

A patient also died at St Mary's Hospital on October 23, which means six people have died on the Isle of Wight's wards this month alone.

In all, taking into account deaths in hospital, there have been 326 deaths on the Isle of Wight of people who had tested positive for Covid-19, or where it was mentioned on their death certificate.
