RED Funnel says Red Jet 6 has return to service this afternoon (Friday), but a number of sailings have been cancelled.

The 4.55pm and 6.15pm Red Jet sailings from Southampton, and the 5.35pm and 6.55pm sailings from Cowes, have all been cancelled.

Tomorrow, the following sailings are cancelled:

  • 7.35am, 8.55am, 10.15am, 11.35am, 12.55pm, 2.15pm, 3.35pm, 4.55pm, 6.15pm from Southampton.
  • 8.15am, 9.35am, 10.55am, 12.15pm, 1.35pm, 2.55pm, 4.15pm, 5.35pm, 6.55pm from Cowes.

Leanna Lakes, operations director at Red Funnel, said: "We are pleased to announce that Red Jet 6 has received regulatory approval following repair works and is now back in service.

"Works on Red Jet 7's port fuel system will carry on throughout the weekend.

"We will continue to keep customers informed and will provide an update on Monday's timetable later this afternoon.

"Today and tomorrow, we will be running a reduced service, operating with one Red Jet.

“We sincerely apologise for the disruption and are working hard to ensure normal service can resume.

"Red Jet 4 has completed an out of water survey today as part of her recertification process following a prolonged period out of service.

"We are working with regulatory authorities to return her to service as soon as possible.

"We will continue to keep customers updated through text alerts, social media updates and our live service status.

"Our vehicle service is running to timetable.”
