A CAR ablaze in the early hours gave Ryde residents an early wake-up call.
A lot of calls went in to 999 from resident around the Harding Road and Cross Street areas, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said.
The calls came in from 3.13am and a crew from Ryde Fire Station attended.
By 3.55pm the car was completely destroyed by the fire and the incident was declared over.
The fire service Tweeted: "Multiple calls received in the control room, lots of residents being woken up.
"The car believed to be a Vauxhall Zafira was well alight on arrival, the car was 100 per cent destroyed by the fire."
The incident is not believed to be suspicious, the fire service confirmed.
